Highlighting the Renishaw OSP60 Probe for Your Machine Tool
ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL, November 15, 2021 -
One constant in manufacturing is the need to focus on operating margins in order to remain competitive. What are the best ways to improve productivity and precision while boosting profits?
Probing has been a long established best practice to not only maximize efficiency and quality, but also the capability and accuracy of machine tools. While there are numerous probing solutions available on the market, Shibaura Machine is pleased to partner with Renishaw, which is industry-leading in technology and performance and with Metrology Resource Group (MRG) to offer the integration and application assistance for our customers. This week we are highlighting the Renishaw probing OSP60 system which is an optional tool that can be included on Shibaura Machine’s machine tools to deliver cost savings and improve quality throughout many industries.
Improve Productivity with OSP60
The Renishaw OSP60 probing solution is an excellent option for shops looking to improve process control and reduce set-up times. Specifically, this probe improves productivity when jobs have features with high curvature or contain complex 3D free form surfaces. The OSP60 offers the technology to scan these difficult features and ensure the highest level of measurement accuracy on the CNC machine, even on the most complex surfaces.
The OSP60 combines a robust optical measurement system to deliver a flexible solution. The surface condition measurement allows the OSP60 probe to monitor waviness (Wt) and detect cosmetic/functional defects quickly. This can include worn and broken cutters (tool life) or surface mismatch (tool setting).
Gain a Competitive Edge
The option to add the Renishaw OSP60 probing solution can deliver the competitive edge that you are looking for. Contact our team to learn about how your shop can start increasing production efficiency and precision with the in-process measurement control and real-time data feedback offered with the Renishaw OSP60 probing solution.
