Shibaura Machine Celebrates 47 Years in North America

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL, April 19, 2021

Today is the 47th anniversary of the incorporation in Illinois of Shibaura Machine Company, America (formerly known as Toshiba Machine). It also marks our first full year under our new name, Shibaura Machine, which was re-adopted by our global corporation on April 1, 2020. On a related note, this year marks the 72nd anniversary of the founding of our parent company when ”Shibaura Machine Works" and "Shibaura Koki” were merged to create Toshiba Machine. We are very proud of our longevity, consistency, and stability as a premier provider of the highest quality precision machinery, backed by a proven and experienced service and parts organization.

During the many significant challenges of the past year, our mature and resilient organization, well-rooted in the North American market, and with a solid core of extraordinarily experienced and driven employees, has been able to adroitly adapt to radically unstable market and social conditions. We have continued to provide our customers with the machinery, service, and parts support they demand to allow them to also meet their business needs.

However, while successfully reacting to the stresses of the times, we have also been proactively pushing the envelope; assuring our continuing leadership role in the future by driving “digital transformation” throughout our organization and continuing development of Industry 4.0 and Smart Factory initiatives to enhance customer Return on Investment.

Further, we are proud of our continuing involvement in Shibaura Machine’s Sustainable Development Goals (“SDGs”) which include; supporting the development and commercialization of environmentally friendly plastics, biodegradable materials, and stronger, light-weight materials.
